How it works

Set it once. We handle every bin day.

Tell us about your property one time and Can 2 Curb takes it from there. We move your bins to the curb before Edmonton collection, the City empties them, and we return them to the exact spot you chose. No reminders, no heavy lifting, no bins left sitting out.

The round trip

Four simple steps, every collection day.

Here is exactly what happens from the moment you sign up to the moment your bins are back in place.

1. Tell us about your property

When you sign up, you share the details that let us serve you reliably: your address, your City of Edmonton collection schedule, how many bins you have and which ones we should handle, where your bins are stored between collections, and any access instructions we need — a side gate, a back lane, a long driveway, or a code to reach the yard. You set this up once and we keep it on file.

2. We move your bins out

Before your scheduled collection, our local team moves your designated bins from their regular storage spot out to the curb, following the access instructions you gave us. If your bins live behind a gate, along a fence, or in a side yard, we bring them out from there. You do not need to be home — most customers never are.

3. The City collects

The City of Edmonton empties the contents of your bins on their regular route, exactly as they always have. Can 2 Curb does not collect, haul, or dispose of any waste — that stays with the City. We simply make sure your bins are at the curb and ready when the collection truck arrives.

4. We return your bins

Once the City has finished collection, we come back and return your bins to the exact spot you chose — not just inside the property line, but the place you actually keep them. You come home to a tidy property instead of empty bins stranded at the curb.

The City of Edmonton collects the contents. Can 2 Curb handles the trip between your property and the curb.

Setting up your service

What we ask for — and why.

A little detail up front means we get it right every single time. Here is what we collect when you start, and how each piece keeps your service running smoothly.

  • Your address & collection schedule

So we visit on the right mornings and keep pace with changing Edmonton collection days.

  • Number and type of bins

Garbage, recycling, food scraps, and seasonal yard waste — you choose which bins we handle.

  • Where your bins are stored

Beside the garage, along a fence, in a side yard — we return them to that exact spot.

  • Access instructions

Gate latches, side yards, back lanes, or how to reach a long driveway — whatever we need to get to your bins.

When plans change

Holidays and hard weather, handled with a plan.

Edmonton bin day does not always run like clockwork. Here is how we keep your service steady when the schedule shifts or the weather turns.

Schedule changes

Statutory holidays can push Edmonton collection to a different day, and seasonal routines like yard-waste pickup start and stop through the year. We track these shifts so your bins still go out on the correct morning. If you know of a change to your own schedule, let us know and we will adjust your service.

Severe weather

Winter is part of life here, and winter service is a core part of what we do. During severe or genuinely unsafe conditions — think ice storms or extreme cold — we follow an operational weather policy that keeps our team and your property safe rather than pushing through dangerous conditions. We will keep you informed if a weather event affects your visit.

Just to be clear

A bin valet, not a waste hauler.

People sometimes mix these up, so here is the simple version of what Can 2 Curb does and does not do.

What we do

  • Move your bins to the curb

Before your scheduled collection, following your access instructions.

  • Return them afterward

Back to the exact spot you chose, so nothing is left at the curb.

  • Keep track of your schedule

Including seasonal and holiday collection shifts across Edmonton.

What the City does

  • Collects and empties your bins

The City of Edmonton runs the trucks and hauls the waste, as always.

  • Handles disposal and recycling

Where your garbage, recycling, and food scraps actually go is the City's job.

  • Sets the collection calendar

We follow the City's routes and timing — we do not change them.
